After shifting from horse training topics, I felt a need to cover equine welfare, interpreting research studies on equine pain behaviours and performance, and presenting those findings in features for a general audience. I’m especially proud of having received emails from all over the world – from researchers and advocates – thanking me for covering these hot topics, for my clarity and understanding, and for my careful attention to getting the details right.

Freelance Scenic Artist & Prop-builder (2008-present)
My nerdy heart is set ablaze in the arts. I have a wild fascination with creating and tinkering and painting, and puzzling how things move (which bleeds into my fascination with equine biomechanics as well). I relish in designing customized and mechanical props and puppets that go beyond the need and add to the story. After starting in scenic arts in 2019, the skills I learned in the film and television industry brought my creations to a new level.

Equine Massage Therapist and PEMF Practitioner (2015-present)
In 2023 I tried PEMF therapy for the first time and I was hooked. I’m grateful to have been able to add it as a service, and have also continued my studies beyond equine massage into myofascial release, CNS work, and more. You can learn more about those skills and services at mearapulse.com.
